Tulips in Canada

Princess Juliana presented to the people of Canada A NUMBER OF GIFTS , including 100000 tulip bulbs, the following year an additional 20500 bulbs were received. Princess Juliana became Queen of the Netherlands in 1948, she continued to send thousands of tulip bulbs to Canada each year during her reign.

These tulips have quickly become a treasured tourist attraction, and stunning  pictures of these tulips can be found all over in newspapers and magazines.

Spring in Vancouver

The signs of winter are coming to a close. Vancouver has over 40000 cherry tree blossom in a sea of pink and white.. The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival runs from 21 March to 17 April 2016.

Many of these tress originated as gifts from Japan.

Vancouver is located within the Pacific Standard Time Zone (PST).

In the Winter months because of the low cloud cover it can feel darker in Vancouver, but we do have great sunshine days also. Sunset can be as early as 4.15pm and sunrise can be as late as 8.05am .

Grouse Mountain, Cypress Mountain, and Mount Seymour.

Winter time it is time to play on these Mountains, as they are great destinations for all snow sport enthusiasts. They are open late for night skiing under the lights, you can do downhill and Nordic skiing, snowboarding or snowshoeing, tubing and tobogganing. These Mountains are just minutes away from our Bed and Breakfast. These Mountains also offer spectacular views of the Vancouver area.
